Hollywood actor-activists in Austin to promote documentary on regenerative farming
Some of Hollywood’s top talent were in Austin on Wednesday to shine the spotlight on regenerative agriculture. They were promoting the documentary, Common Ground, which raises awareness about the food movement that calls for a more holistic approach to farming.
“Hello Austin,” said actor Ian Somerhalder who introduced the film to a sold-out crowd.
Somerhalder is known for playing Boone Carlyle in the TV drama Lost and Damon Salvatore in The CW’s supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries. He told the audience that regenerative farming can change how farmers grow food and take care of their land.
“We got this people. We are in it. We will stop climate change in its tracks,” said Somerhalder. “I am not trying to sound all Hollywood dramatic, but this film can change everything. This is how we do it. We just need farmers having the money to learn regeneration.”
