The planet, and our time on it, has a ticking clock. The majority of U.S. soils are extremely degraded, with topsoil loss occurring at a rate of 5.6 tons per acre a year on agricultural land. Our current agriculture system does not do enough to support soil health.
Regenerative agriculture takes a systems-based, holistic look at the land being stewarded and applies various principles with the goal of making the land more productive and biodiverse over time. Healthy soil creates a positive feedback loop across the ecosystem.
Often, improving soil health and function improves productivity and biodiversity, and can eventually put carbon back into the land.
