TALES OF A NORTH DAKOTAN FARMER IN NYC

SPOTLIGHT(S) ON GABE

Gabe Brown and Josh and Rebecca's son, Jedi, at the COMMON GROUND premiere last week at the Tribeca Film Festival

Gabe Brown is a renowned regenerative rancher from North Dakota. Together with his family, he owns and operates Brown's Ranch, a diversified 5,000-acre farm near Bismarck.

Gabe's journey began in 1991 when he embraced holistic management practices to regenerate his land afters enduring years of hardship that almost lost him his farm. Through integrating grazing and no-till cropping systems, he has drastically improved soil health, water retention, and ecosystem resilience and revenue.

REGENERATIVE FARMER SINCE 1991

PESTICIDE, FUNGICIDE AND HERBICIDE FREE SINCE 2010

25% HIGHER THAN THE AVERAGE YIELD IN HIS COUNTY

Gabe is a trailblazer in the soil health movement and actively shares his knowledge as a speaker and educator. His transformative journey from conventional farming to regenerative agriculture showcases the potential for  building soil health while making a profit.

He is a real-life superhero, and one of the many incredible farmers featured in COMMON GROUND. Gabe Brown continues to champion regenerative practices, and we are immensely grateful for his contributions to this discipline. We were honored to have him join us last week for the Tribeca Film Festival.

In his book, From Dirt to Soil, One Family’s Journey into Regenerative Agriculture, Gabe shares in depth his five principles of soil health: no-till or minimal tillage, keeping the ground covered, diversity in plant and animal species, keeping living roots in the soil as much as possible, and the importance of integrating animals.
