COMMON GROUND WINS AT PALM SPRINGS!

Filmmakers Josh and Rebecca Tickell, and their children Athena and Jedi, with actors and Common Ground narrators Jason Momoa and Laura Dern.

It’s been a big week for Common Ground as we prepare for the 2024 theatrical release (and soon… streaming - date TBA!). On Thursday January 11th, famers, soil enthusiasts and celebrities alike gathered for the LA green carpet premiere of Common Ground at the Samuel Goldwyn theater, sponsored by Maker’s Mark.

Then, right after the LA event, it was announced that Common Ground WON the Audience Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival!

At the LA Premiere we were joined by Jason Momoa and his children, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf, Demi Moore, Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed, Malin Akerman, Jack Donnelly, Amy Smart, Alfonso Ribeiro, Angela Unkrich, Sal Masekela, Rachelle Carson-Begley, Ed Begley, Jr., along with Laura Dern and her daughter Jaya Harper.

We were also joined by the true heroes and celebrities of this movement - the farmers, ranchers and experts who are putting carbon underground including Gabe Brown, Rick Clark, Alejandro Carrillo, Lyla June Johnston, Robyn O’Brien, Kelly Ryerson, Carey Gillam and Jonathan Lundgren.

“I've been thinking all day about Common Ground, and how riveting and moving it was -- how you so beautifully wove together such fascinating history, and exposé, and heartwarming / heart-wrenching personal stories, and then did it all in a way that felt so utterly uplifting... Bravo!!!”  - Jennifer G

“Not only was I completely entertained but the abundance of intelligence, facts and knowledge that I left with was priceless.  I left feeling every emotion from anger, fear, sadness, disgust to hope.  And that’s just it you leave me with HOPE every time!  So thank you!” - Elana G

“I want to thank you for inviting me to your amazing and so important movie. You were able to make the subject so interesting and entertaining. That is great filmmaking. I will tell everyone as I have already to see the film, because truthfully, our lives depend on it.” - Rachelle C

“What a fantastic film.  So powerful...it will require multiple viewings to absorb all of the content. “ - Robert F.

“Thank you for having us last night. It is such a beautiful and inspiring film. One of the few documentaries that has touched me” - Jason L.

What does Jason Momoa think of regenerative farming?

'We used to think we had to sacrifice profit in order to prioritize the health of the people and the integrity of our food system but this film shows that this is no longer true. Farmers can actually make MORE money if they break away from government subsidies and the ties that connect them to the agrochemical industry, which in turn will yield healthier crops, healthier soil, a healthier planet and healthier people.'

- Nikki Reed

What we're realizing is this film is bringing the left and the right together. These aren't issues. These are topics. You don't even have to talk about climate change because regeneration works. At the end of the day, regeneration creates way more money."
- Ian Somerhalder

I hope the film will inspire people to make everyday changes and influence large corporations and those with political power to take a stand.”

- Laura Dern
